Annalisa Monticelli (Piano & Voice)

Annalisa Monticelli, pianist, vocal and Italian coach, was born in Milazzo, Sicily. During her earlier studies, she performed in Italy, Spain, Germany, Romania and Argentina; as a soloist, with chamber ensembles and with various orchestras, and she has recorded a compact disc as a soloist with Orchestra, “Fantasia Romantica,” that was produced by the Scomegna recording company (Turin).  She gave the world premiere of same at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina (Sicily). 

She earned a Diploma in piano, a Masters in Music Education and a Masters in Piano performance at the Conservatoire in Messina, and in May 2012 she earned a Master in piano at Converse College, (Spartanburg, South Carolina). She also studied Advance chamber music with renown pianists, Bruno Canino, in the Fiesole school of Music (Florence) and advanced piano repertoire with Argentinean pianist Daniel Rivera (Pisa).

She began her coaching career working for the Montalto Opera program in Montalto Ligure (Italia), accompanying masterclasses by Rebecca Turner (USA), Gianluca Schipioni (RAI Symphony Orchestra, Turin) among others. 

In 2014 Monticelli moved to Dublin to work as a rèpètiteur and Italian Coach for the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Also, since 2014 Annalisa is Executive Director, Chief Accompanist and Italian Coach for the Bassi Brugnatelli International Conducting and Singing Symposium held annually in Robbiate (Italy) and since 2015 she is Assistant Lecturer Rèpètiteur at Dundalk Institute of Technology.

In recent years Annalisa has been in demand as a solo artist, accompanist, chamber musician, and choral conductor. She has recorded various albums (most recent “A Blue Bird Singing”, with Soprano Louise Martin, in celebration of Poet E. Ledwidge), performed in the National Concert Hall in Dublin and other major venues throughout Ireland and England, accompanied vocal masterclasses for the Institut StimmKünst in Zurich (Switzerland) and taught piano masterclasses and performed solo recitals in Johor Baru (Malaysia). 

To cultivate her long term passion for Latin-American music Annalisa is currently undertaking a Ph.D focused in Latin-American Music from the twentieth Century.
